CFR Introduction
Harigai Industry Co., Ltd.
What is CFR?
Proprietary technology has created a new type of rubber sheet with unprecedented materials
CFR(Carbon Fiber Rubber)
Patent acquisition: Patent No. 6531245
CFR is a product that combines rubber and carbon fibers.
Carbon fiber has traditionally been a difficult material to bond, but with our proprietary technology, we have succeeded in creating a strong bond.
The “CFR Sheet” is an innovative reinforced rubber sheet that leverages the high strength and lightweight properties of carbon fiber along with the elasticity and flexibility of rubber, offering features such as light weight, high strength, impact absorption, and flexibility.
This material is already being used in the sports industry and has been tested in disaster prevention products, automotive sectors such as tires, and in the energy field like wind power generation. It is also expected to be utilized as reinforcement material for hydrogen fuel tanks, which are anticipated to become more widespread in the future.

Structure of CFR sheets
Comparison with CFRP/TP
Rubber and carbon fiber “CFR” sheet | CFRP/TP sheet made of reinforced plastic and carbon fiber | |
light | Specific gravity is 1/5 of iron | Same as CFR |
strong | Tensile strength is 10 times stronger than steel | Same as CFR |
Shock-resistance | Impact absorption is about four times that of CFRP/TP | Poor shock absorption |
Flexibility | Flexibility unique to rubber (good bending properties) | Hard to bend |
Lightweight
Comparison of specific gravity with typical materials
Strong
Comparison of tensile strength
Impact resistance
Comparison of falling weight impact energy absorption and displacement
Flexibility
After bending 200,000 times, there was no peeling between the layers, and no cracks in the surface layer, frayed carbon fibers, or other damage was observed.
