What's the TOM method?

As the TOM method is able to greatly reduce CO2 emissions in comparison to traditional spray coating, automakers, major automotive paint plant manufacturers, and coating and film manufacturers are engaging in full-scale development of this technology.

However, various challenges remain, including appearance defects known as “shock lines” which occur when applying paint and smooth films with a metallic finish, etc., as well as peeling of the film during outdoor testing, and the difficulty producing quality products reliably.

Introduction of the TOM Method

Introduction of the TOM Method
We introduced the TOM method in 2013, and we have successfully developed proprietary manufacturing techniques based on this technology to prevent shock lines, ensure uniform product quality, avoid contamination, and avert peeling of the film, etc.

World's first mass production adoption

World's first mass production adoption
As a world first, it was adopted in 2018 for mass production of metallic finish outer door handle covers compatible with Honda Smart Entry, and we are currently manufacturing plastic automotive parts and magnesium parts for medical equipment.

Licensing agreement

Licensing agreement
We believe that these independently developed manufacturing techniques can play a role in global
carbon neutrality, so instead of monopolizing them, we are making licensing agreement to make them
available to clients who wish to use them.

Proprietary simulation analysis software

TOM simulation analysis services

TOM simulation analysis services

We have also developed proprietary simulation analysis software specialized for the TOM method. Its most significant feature is the ability to obtain results which reflect not only the form factor of a component, but also differences in the film specifications, such as layer composition, thickness, and hardness.

Validation is possible

Validation is possible

In 2022, we began offering TOM simulation analysis services using this software which are able to verify the adhesion of a film without performing manufacturing actual prototypes, and we are meeting our clients’ demand for model-based development.

The most reliable simulation

The most reliable simulation

Our TOM simulation analysis services were established based on proprietary techniques which overcome the challenges of the film decoration method, and we are confident that our simulations are of the highest reliability.
